.........."I wonder what they are thinking!"
In a small clearing in a deeply wooded area a young shaggy gray wolf rests his chin on the warm brown earth, his back is comforted by a soft leafy bush and he is surrounded by tufts of grass and scattered stones. He shares a moment of contemplation with his Raven friend who is perched facing him.
Each animal is rendered in exquisite detail. The density of the wolf's coat is apparent and way the color variegation of his coat goes from light gray, to a light charcoal and up to the tan on his ears adds to the wolf's life like appearance. To render the Raven I used a very thin brush to paint the fine details of it's beautiful dark feathers.
Wolves and ravens have a special relationship and ravens are often seen with wolves when a kill is made.
Ravens are also called "wolf-birds" since they form a close attachment with wolves.

I found that I could escape the city by creating on canvas the scenes of the country side, nature and wildlife by imagining myself being in that particular place as the brush flows across the canvas. Through the years I have tried different techniques in my paintings and learning continually to where I am today. I have lived and traveled throughout the United States and parts of the world and now reside in a small community of upstate...
